My name is Hazel and I was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. Growing up in the city, I attended Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts and specialized in the Fine Arts. For my higher education, I chose to pursue an undergraduate degree in the History of Art at the University of Glasgow in Scotland.

Overall, my practice is centered around going with the flow. I mostly work from my imagination in terms of my own art, as well as obtain the drive and inspiration to create from the art I study in my courses.
When it comes to making art, the mediums I enjoy working with most are pen/ink and acrylic. Along with these traditional mediums, I’ve recently gotten into 3D rendering in Blender.

Outside of making art and attending classes: I enjoy knitting, reading, visiting museums, and exploring the Scottish wilderness. While I was living in New York, my favorite activity was visiting my local cemetery: Green-Wood. Many notable figures are buried there, including Jean-Michel Basquiat. Each tomb tells a story, and the rolling green space serves as a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of New York City. I have completed a number of projects about Green-Wood and would volunteer for trash pickup on weekends.

My first attempt at colourwork knitting…much room for improvement
